Patent glazing was added over part of the extension to light the theatre. Space underneath was converted into drying rooms, a coal house and a heating chamber.

Old buildings were converted into a disinfecting and sterilising room and laundry.

An old garage was taken down and a new mortuary and P.M. room was built.
